Youths and students in Anseba region expressed readiness to back up the national development drive. They made the pledge during an excursion they organized to visit sites where significant development projects have been accomplished in the region. They also lauded the Government’s commitment to improve the livelihood of citizens on the basis of the policy of self-reliance.

Keren, 5 September 2012 – Youths and students in Anseba region expressed readiness to back up the national development drive. They made the pledge during an excursion they organized to visit sites where significant development projects have been accomplished in the region. They also lauded the Government’s commitment to improve the livelihood of citizens on the basis of the policy of self-reliance.

Among the youths and students, Abdulrihim Mohammed Ali, Ruket Ramadan and Salina Hagos voiced deep impression with Kerkebet sub-zone’s potential as regards agriculture and natural resources including biodiversity. They further commended the leading role of the Eritrean youth in national development programs.

Stating that the excursion was aimed at ensuring an exposure for youths towards national resources and development accomplishments in the area, Mr. Luigi Hussein, head of the NUEYS branch in Anseba region, indicated that the youths and students also planted more than 2,500 tree seedlings with a view to combating the prevalence of desertification that may affect the area.

The youths and students called on the inhabitants of Kerkebet sub-zone to enhance participation in the extensive agricultural activity being initiated at government expenditure in the locality.
