Southern region: Administrator calls on inhabitants to sustain active participation in national development programs
Mr. Mustafa Nurhusein, Administrator of the Southern region, called on inhabitants to sustain their active participation in national development programs. He made the call at meetings he conducted with community representatives from the sub-zones of Tserona, Mai-Aini and Senafe.
Mendefera, 6 September 2012 – Mr. Mustafa Nurhusein, Administrator of the Southern region, called on inhabitants to sustain their active participation in national development programs. He made the call at meetings he conducted with community representatives from the sub-zones of Tserona, Mai-Aini and Senafe.
The Administrator indicated that various accomplishments have been registered in the region over the past 18 months as regards soil and water conservation, introduction of drip irrigation, rural electrification and extension of mobile telephone, in addition to the putting in place of social service facilities. He further underlined that popular awareness regarding environmental conservation and modern farming practices is on the rise thanks to the
Government’s commitment to this end, and called on the participants of the meetings to play significant role in encouraging popular undertakings.
Mr. Mustafa disclosed that future undertakings in the region would focus on preparation of irrigated farmlands, extending wood and grass enclosures, as well as promoting use of latrines in rural areas, besides undertaking effective measures as regards adult education. The participants put forth views regarding various issues.
