Beilul Administrative area: Seminar conducted as regards antenatal care

The Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region organized a seminar for the inhabitants of Beilul Administrative area with a view to enhancing community awareness pertaining to antenatal care. The participants of the seminar which was conducted in Alalie were called upon to play major role in strengthening community participation as regards safeguarding child and mother health. Beilul, 7 September 2012 – The Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region organized a seminar for the inhabitants of Beilul Administrative area with a view to enhancing community awareness pertaining to antenatal care. The participants of the seminar which was conducted in Alalie were called upon to play major role in strengthening community participation as regards safeguarding child and mother health.

Mr. Asefaw Gebremichael, head of the branch office, stressed the need for women to make use of health services during pregnancy and delivery. Mr. Mohammed Niguse, head of the branch office’s promotion department, on his part underlined the significance of breast feeding during the 6 post-delivery months vis-à-vis the value of iodine in children’s diet.

The participants of the seminar voiced readiness to raise participation in community sensitization endeavors targeting child and mother health.
