Livestock market built in Megolo semi-urban center

The Administration of Gash-Barka region indicated that a 1 hectare-wide livestock market has been built in Megolo semi-urban center.

Megolo, 7 September 2012 – The Administration of Gash-Barka region indicated that a 1 hectare-wide livestock market has been built in Megolo semi-urban center.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the marketplace, Mr. Mohammed Hamd, Administrator of Gash-Barka region, said that its construction was accomplished on the basis of the locality’s master plan. Stating that such accomplishment attests to the regional Administration’s endeavors towards creating conducive environment for livestock market, Mr. Haile Asfaha, head of infrastructure department in the Administration, pointed out that new marketplaces in Goluj, Gogne, Haikota and Shambuko are already rendering commendable service, while the construction of others in underway in Antore and Mensura.

Among the inhabitants of the area, Mr. Mustafa Ali, Mr. Mohammed Ali and Mr. Yacob Ramadan expressed satisfaction with the livestock market, and lauded the Government’s commitment in this regard.

Mr. Mohammed Hamd Ashkerai, Administrator of Megolo sub-zone, called on the beneficiaries to practice judicious utilization of the marketplace.
