The police command in Afabet sub-zone called on the inhabitants to step up participation as regards crime prevention. It made the call at a seminar conducted with the inhabitants of Qilamet, Felket, Naro-Ans, Naro-Teb’at and Kubkub, as well as the residents of Afabet semi-urban center. Afabet, 8 September 2012 – The police command in Afabet sub-zone called on the inhabitants to step up participation as regards crime prevention. It made the call at a seminar conducted with the inhabitants of Qilamet, Felket, Naro-Ans, Naro-Teb’at and Kubkub, as well as the residents of Afabet semi-urban center.
Maj. Amenai Zewde, commander of the police force in the semi-urban center, indicated that the prevailing cultural values within the Eritrean society play significant role in crime prevention, and called on parents to sustain efforts in bequeathing such values. He further called on the local inhabitants to extend a helping hand in endeavors to combat traffic accidents.
Sgt. Ogbagebriel Girmai, head of criminal investigation in the sub-zone, on his part stressed the vitality of societal influence in nurturing well-mannered youths and crime-free nation.
Among the participants of the seminar, Mr. Omar Saleh and Mr. Idris Shinen, the Administrators of Qamchiewa and Naro-Teb’at Administrative areas respectively, explained that such seminars are crucial in raising community awareness as regards law, and called on the pertinent bodies to organize them on regular basis.
