The Central Region Festival Coordinating Committee said that the festival conducted from 25 August to 2 September was successful as it had depicted the all-round potential within the region vis-à-vis the number of visitors witnessed and the messages conveyed through different activities. The committee made the statement at an assessment meeting it conducted.
Asmara, 10 September 2012 – The Central Region Festival Coordinating Committee said that the festival conducted from 25 August to 2 September was successful as it had depicted the all-round potential within the region vis-à-vis the number of visitors witnessed and the messages conveyed through different activities. Pointing out that the role of the camps pertaining to culture, the armed struggle for independence, trade events, children and others had added color to the festival, the committee commended the active participation of Area Administrations and different institutions in organizing them. It further noted that impressive participation was witnessed in the education camp, while traditional sports attracted popularity on the part of many visitors.
Indicating that such festival is vital in bequeathing cultural and national values, Mr. Endrias Asmerom, chairman of the committee, indicated that the event has properly been documented.
