Farmers in Sitmo Administrative area anticipate bountiful harvest: Report

Farmers in Sitmo Administrative area, Tesenei sub-zone, said that they anticipate bountiful harvest in line with the commendable rain showers registered this year. They further indicated that the cultivated crops are in good state thanks to the well-timed start of rainfall and timely accomplishment of farming activities.

Tesenei, 12 September 2012 – Farmers in Sitmo Administrative area, Tesenei sub-zone, said that they anticipate bountiful harvest in line with the commendable rain showers registered this year. They further indicated that the cultivated crops are in good state thanks to the well-timed start of rainfall and timely accomplishment of farming activities.

Among the farmers, Mr. Mohammed Ali Ibrahim, Mohammed Ali Jawoj and Ms. Saedia Ali pointed out that the history of extensive farming in the area dates back to the days of Italian colonization, and that they are hopeful of surplus harvest.

Mr. Abdu Ibrahim, Administrator of the Administrative area, explained that a total of 320 hectares were tilled in the locality, and commended the inhabitants for demonstrating hard work in the rain-fed farming activities.
Sitmo village is located 25 Km. west of Tesenei city.
