The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare disclosed that it would launch a program to avert incidence of street children in line with endeavors being exerted in this regard in pursuit of the national policy of ensuring social justice. It further indicated that various policies have been implemented as regards rehabilitation and enhancing the production capacity of families of fallen heroes, the Disabled, as well as street children. Asmara, 12 September 2012 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare disclosed that it would launch a program to avert incidence of street children in line with endeavors being exerted in this regard in pursuit of the national policy of ensuring social justice. It further indicated that various policies have been implemented as regards rehabilitation and enhancing the production capacity of families of fallen heroes, the Disabled, as well as street children.
Pointing out that the need to exert vigorous endeavors towards combating incidence of street children is a pre-requisite with growing urbanization, the Ministry stated that it has been shouldering the task of patronizing and improving the livelihood of such children. It also called on families to enhance their role as regards combating instances of such social mishaps.
Stakeholders, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare, are expected to step up endeavors in this regard, according to reports.
