Community rehabilitation volunteers in Ginda sub-zone demonstrating commendable participation in welfare activities

The sub-zonal branch office of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare in Ginda town indicated that community rehabilitation volunteers in the locality have made commendable accomplishment in government endeavors to rehabilitate the Disabled. It made the statement at a meeting conducted with community representatives, Area Administrators and volunteers. Ginda, 17 September 2012 – The sub-zonal branch office of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare in Ginda town indicated that community rehabilitation volunteers in the locality have made commendable accomplishment in government endeavors to rehabilitate the Disabled. It made the statement at a meeting conducted with community representatives, Area Administrators and volunteers.

Mr. Jabir Idris, head of the branch office, explained that promotional activities conducted with a view to fostering positive behavioral change have brought about impressive outcome, and that disabled citizens are in a position of improving their livelihood on the basis of individual effort, as well as through joint venture.

Among the volunteers, Ms. Fatina Hasen, Mr. Jaefer Idris, Ms. Jim’a Ahmed and Ms. Fireweini Gebremichael pointed out that the manner they were involved in such welfare activity involved looking for ways disabled citizens could be rehabilitated at individual level. They also said that they would enhance efforts in raising community awareness as regards the Disabled, and called on Area Administrations to back up endeavors in this regard.

There are 60 community rehabilitation volunteers in Ginda sub-zone, according to reports.
