Ber’asoli Administrative area: Women experiencing improvement of livelihood upon resort to new skill
Women in Ber’asoli Administrative area said that they are in a position of experiencing improvement of livelihood on the basis of fishing net mending, a skill they could master in line with a training course organized by the NUEW. Assab, 22 September 2012 – Women in Ber’asoli Administrative area said that they are in a position of experiencing improvement of livelihood on the basis of fishing net mending, a skill they could master in line with a training course organized by the NUEW.
Among the beneficiaries of the training, Kedija Ibrahim, Halima Omar, Hawa Yusuf and Medina Mohammed explained that fishing nets used to be mended by fishermen only, and that the knowledge they have acquired would facilitate fishing activity. They further stated that they would enhance efforts to raise their income-generating capacity.
Reports indicated that beneficiaries of the training are 20 Association members from Ber’asoli Administrative area, and that similar trainings would be organized in other Administrative areas along the coastal area of the Southern Red Sea region.
