In an interview he conducted with Erina, he explained that this year’s rainfall was commendable compared to that of last year and that according to the data collected from the 25 meteorological centers in Gash-Barka from 400 to 500 mm, in Southern region from 300 to 600 mm, and in Central region from 300 to 529 mm of rainfall were registered.

He reiterated that the rain fall started in Southern region on 7 June, in Central and Ansaba regions on 12 June and that the Department of Meteorology is conducting continuous assessment in terms of agricultural, climate and water aspects.

He further noted that the Department of Meteorology serves all sectors of the economy and called on all concerned institutions to fully cooperate in the efforts to collect reliable and sustainable data and farmers to till their land ahead of time.
