Roving apicultural farmers in Agordat sub-zone expressed satisfaction with the climatic situation and availability of nectar during the current rainy season. Stating that abundant amount of nectar flowers have bloomed specially in the Hilaga area, they lauded the norm of the local inhabitants as regards conservation of trees. Agordat, 26 September 2012 – Roving apicultural farmers in Agordat sub-zone expressed satisfaction with the climatic situation and availability of nectar during the current rainy season. Stating that abundant amount of nectar flowers have bloomed specially in the Hilaga area, they lauded the norm of the local inhabitants as regards conservation of trees.
Among the farmers, Fisehatsion Shimondi and Firezgi Abraham explained that they wander across various places with their beehives in search of suitable weather situation and adequate nectar supply, and that they found Agordat area being suitable for apicultural activity between the months of July and November. They also disclosed that they are in a position to harvest 2 to 3 quintals of honey within a month.
