The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) distributed water pumps to 160 members on credit basis with a view to laying reliable ground for the improvement of their livelihood.
Asmara, 27 September 2012 – The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) distributed water pumps to 160 members on credit basis with a view to laying reliable ground for the improvement of their livelihood.
Mr. Gebrebirhan Eyasu, Chairman of the Association, explained that the water pumps were made available at a cost of 9 million Nakfa, and that the Association has been extending various types of support to members with a view to enhancing their production capacity. He further pointed out that the Association has been working on priority basis in the rehabilitation of association members practicing farming over the past 2 years, and accordingly 1,060 members were rehabilitated in apiculture, livestock and water pumps at a total expenditure of 17 million Nakfa.
Among the beneficiaries of the water pumps, Mr. Tikabo Habte, Ms. Abrehet Gebremichael and Mr. Hamza Adem Mohammed said that such support attests to the government’s commitment to improve the livelihood of the Disabled, and that they would work hard to back up government endeavors towards ensuring food security.
