The inhabitants of Bihat Administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, said that they are in a position of securing annual animal feed supply based on effective utilization of the available dam and grassland. Senafe, 27 September 2012 – The inhabitants of Bihat Administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, said that they are in a position of securing annual animal feed supply based on effective utilization of the available dam and grassland.

Among the inhabitants, Rev. Teame Tekle, Mr. Gereme Tesfu and Mr. Tesfamichael Woldu explained that they rely on various types of temporary grassland enclosures for animal feed, besides hay harvest, and that community-based judicious consumption of such reserves has ensured sustainable supply to this end. Stating that the dam in the locality is making significant input in this regard, they indicated that adherence to the traditional norm of enclosure management is the main factor of the achievement.

Bihat, one of the 15 Area administrative centers in Senafe sub-zone, is inhibited by 700 families.
