The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Dige sub-zone indicated that a new wood enclosure has been established in Tekreriet Administrative area with a view to promoting environmental conservation and wildlife. Dige, 28 September 2012 – The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Dige sub-zone indicated that a new wood enclosure has been established in Tekreriet Administrative area with a view to promoting environmental conservation and wildlife.

Stating that similar programs have already been implemented in the locality, Mr. Dawit Berhane, head of the branch office, disclosed that around 7,000 tree seedlings have been planted through popular undertaking on the 250 hectare-wide enclosure, besides the construction of terraces within 10 hectares.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that serious protective measure has been introduced in Adebrhim Administrative area to conserve vital trees such as palm varieties.

Mr. Dawit called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand towards safeguarding the enclosure.
