Mekanat inhabitants express satisfaction with new potable water supply

The inhabitants of Mekanat village, Gogne sub-zone, expressed satisfaction with the putting in place of new potable water supply. Pointing out that the task of fetching water used to be a demanding one in the locality, they voiced conviction that the availability of such facility attests to the government’s commitment to enhance the development of remote areas. Gogne, 1 October 2012 – The inhabitants of Mekanat village, Gogne sub-zone, expressed satisfaction with the putting in place of new potable water supply. Pointing out that the task of fetching water used to be a demanding one in the locality, they voiced conviction that the availability of such facility attests to the government’s commitment to enhance the development of remote areas.

Among the inhabitants, Sheikh Hassan Mohammed Idris and Mr. Ibrahim Adem Idris explained that they are in a position to save time and energy following resort to solar energy-powered facility, and that their livelihood has significantly improved thanks to the availability of basic social service facilities. They also called on fellow inhabitants to practice judicious utilization of the facility.

Mr. Adem Sheriff, coordinator of the potable water supply project, equally called on the inhabitants to play due role in ensuring its sustainability.
