212 students obtain admission to the College of Marine Science and Technology

Reports indicate that 212 students including 72 females have obtained admission to the College of Marine Science and Technology. Massawa, 4 October 2012 – Reports indicate that 212 students including 72 females have obtained admission to the College of Marine Science and Technology.

Pointing out that 97 of the students are attending degree program, while the rest 115 have enrolled in diploma programs, Dr. Zekeria Abdelkherim, Dean of the college, disclosed that the available fields of study comprise marine and fishing science, sea farming, sea food technology, marine engineering, quarantine and marine micro-biology. He further explained that a 10% increase of female admission has been noted, and that the number of freshman students could increase.

Among the freshman students, Michael Teklezgi and Eden Mehari expressed satisfaction with the orientation accorded them, and said that they would enhance individual effort to attain the desired success in their career as students.

The College of Marine Science and Technology has accommodated 650 students, 100 of whom are females, the reports added.
