Eritrean nationals residing in Jeddah and environs, Saudi Arabia, reaffirmed readiness to enhance their role in national development programs. They made the pledge at a seminar conducted on October 3 in connection with the annual community festival in which they held discussion regarding the objective situation in the Homeland and the ongoing development activities. Asmara, 4 October 2012 – Eritrean nationals residing in Jeddah and environs, Saudi Arabia, reaffirmed readiness to enhance their role in national development programs. They made the pledge at a seminar conducted on October 3 in connection with the annual community festival in which they held discussion regarding the objective situation in the Homeland and the ongoing development activities.

The nationals expressed satisfaction with the pace of development drive in the country, including that of achieving food security under a dynamic leadership and through pursuing an independent path.

Mr. Zemhret Yohannes, Head of Research and Documentation at the PFDJ, gave briefings to seminar participants as regards the objective situation in the country, the region and the world at large, according to reports. He pointed out that the Eritrean people, under their committed leadership, have managed to attain gratifying outcome in the nation-building process on the basis of self-reliance and avoiding neo-colonialist influence, reports added.

The festival would continue until tomorrow.
