Gilas Administrative area: Inhabitants who have been leading scattered pattern of living settle in Harestai Village Hagaz, 4 October 2012 – The inhabitants of Gilas Administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, who have been leading scattered pattern of living have begun to lead community-based style of living in Harestai Village.
Mr. Asgedom Temnewo, Administrator of the locality, explained that the initiative was integrated with government endeavors to ensure sustainable rural development, and that the village is currently being inhibited by 170 families.
Reports indicate that Harestai Village has a comparative advantage of ready master plan and proximity to the mainstream electrification line, as well as dirt road in the area.
Stating that the new settlers also include some from Enchinaq Administrative area, Mr. Asgedom indicated that the dam in the locality has impounded ample amount of water, and that implementation of activities that foster development of the locality is due to begin in due course. He also called on the inhabitants to enhance their role in encouraging such initiative.
Mr. Saad Saeri-Emba Mohammed, Administrator of Harestai village, called on pertinent bodies to play vital role as regards facilitating development of the village in an integrated manner.
Harestai village is located 9 Km. east of Hagaz semi-urban center.
