During a ceremony conducted in Mendefera to mark the International Day of Teachers on national level, it was expressed that educational excellence mainly depends from teachers’ dedication, and capacity of teachers depends not only from motivation but also from continuous hard work and dedication on the part of teachers.
Mendefera, 7 October 2012- During a ceremony conducted in Mendefera to mark the International Day of Teachers on national level, it was expressed that educational excellence mainly depends from teachers’ dedication, and capacity of teachers depends not only from motivation but also from continuous hard work and dedication on the part of teachers.
At the ceremony which was conducted in Mendefera on 5 October under the theme “Let’s stand along side teachers for the development of education” Mr. Mustafa Nur-Husein, Administrator of the Southern region, commending the contribution of teachers in the national development drive and in illiteracy eradication called for reinforcing their contribution looking ahead for the bright future.
Teacher Isak Tesfagiorgis, Chairperson of Eritrean Teachers’ Association, on his part indicated the importance of working to nurture capable and productive students along side the expansion of educational institutions, development of education and improving the livelihood of teachers. He also called on parents to make follow-up of the performance of their children and encourage teachers.
In a speech he made during the occasion Mr. Semere Russom, Minister of Education, explained that the core of all efforts to develop education are teachers and called on all sectors of the society to stand alongside teachers for the development of education is to the advantage of the entire country.
