Female beneficiaries of Micro-credit and Savings Program in Debarwa town said that they are in a position to improve their livelihood. Among the beneficiaries, Ms. Akberet Gebregziabher and Ms. Lucia Semere explained that they are engaged in successful merchandizing business. Debarwa, 10 October 2012 – Female beneficiaries of Micro-credit and Savings Program in Debarwa town said that they are in a position to improve their livelihood. Among the beneficiaries, Ms. Akberet Gebregziabher and Ms. Lucia Semere explained that they are engaged in successful merchandizing business.

Ms. Almaz Yosef, head of the program in Debarwa sub-zone, indicated that 2,600 inhabitants have secured an aggregate credit of 8 million Nakfa, 89% of whom have reportedly witnessed improvement of livelihood. She also called on the beneficiaries to enhance resort to feasibility study.

There exist Micro-credit Village Banks in the villages of Shiketi, Adi-Sherefeto, Adi-Felesti, Deki-Tsinua, Zawul and Kakibda, according to reports.
