Gash-Barka region: Endeavors underway to ensure standard of service business in the tourism sector

The Tourism Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that it is exerting endeavors towards ensuring standard of service business in the sector.

Barentu, 10 October 2012 – The Tourism Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that it is exerting endeavors towards ensuring standard of service business in the sector.

Mr. Amine Woldeab, head of the branch office, disclosed that there exist 2,200 tourism service businesses in the region, and that seminars are organized for the owners of such firms vis-à-vis the introduction of follow-up mechanism with a view to fostering service quality. He further pointed out that there exist a number of tourism sites in Gash-Barka region including ancient trenches, caves, rivers and elephant enclosure, among others.

Moreover, Mr. Amine called on service business owners in the region to strengthen their ventures in a manner that promotes quality.
