Anseba region: Community health representatives obtain training regarding communicable diseases

The NUEW branch in Anseba region organized a training course as regards communicable diseases for a number of women community health representatives from the sub-zones of Adi-Tekelezan, Elabered, Hamelmalo and Keren with a view to giving impetus to endeavors for doing away with child and mother mortality. During the training, it was noted that the role of the participants is vital in raising community awareness in this regard. Keren, 16 October 2012 – The NUEW branch in Anseba region organized a training course as regards communicable diseases for a number of women community health representatives from the sub-zones of Adi-Tekelezan, Elabered, Hamelmalo and Keren with a view to giving impetus to endeavors for doing away with child and mother mortality. During the training, it was noted that the role of the participants is vital in raising community awareness in this regard.

Ms. Asha Ali-Nur, head of the branch office, explained that the Union has been organizing various training courses for members in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders keeping in mind the improvement of women’s livelihood, and that such trainings have had positive impact.

Among the beneficiaries of the training, Ms. Letekidan Estifanos and Ms. Huria Idris said that the training is vital as regards strengthening their role as community health volunteers, and expressed readiness to enhance participation towards the realization of the cherished goal.
