Infrastructure facilities playing significant role in fostering tourism activities, Say domestic tourists

A number of tourism service business owners from Anseba region said that the putting in place of various infrastructure facilities nationwide is playing significant role in fostering tourism activities. Keren, 16 October 2012 – A number of tourism service business owners from Anseba region said that the putting in place of various infrastructure facilities nationwide is playing significant role in fostering tourism activities. They made the statement during their excursion to Filfil-Selemuna, within the Greenbelt area.

Mr. Habteyesus Gebreleul, chairman of the association of tourism service business owners in Anseba region, explained that the asphalt road linking Filfil and Selemuna unravels the area’s all-round potential of fostering the tourism sector, and that its construction attests to the capacity of national construction companies. Mr. Sereqe Gebrai and Ms. Tinti Tesfamichael on their part voiced conviction that such facilities constitute part of the favorable environment for investment in the tourism domain.

Mr. Dawit Kibreab, head of the Tourism Ministry’s branch in Anseba region, pointed out that Eritrea possesses a comparative advantage to this end as regards the number of historical sites it has vis-à-vis its landscape, in addition to the prevalence of peace in the country. He further indicated that working as an association is by itself a virtue in fostering tourism service.
