The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Anseba region indicated that significant irrigation farming activities are underway on the basis of 40 dams which have reportedly impounded ample water during the rainy season. It further called on farmers to practice prudent utilization of water resources.
Keren, 19 October 2012 – The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Anseba region indicated that significant irrigation farming activities are underway on the basis of 40 dams which have reportedly impounded ample water during the rainy season. It further called on farmers to practice prudent utilization of water resources.
Mr. Al-Amin Tahir, Acting head of the branch office, disclosed that agricultural research sites within the region are engaged in identifying various select crop varieties, and that a select millet variety under cultivation in the region is due to yield bountiful harvest. Moreover, he called on farmers to demonstrate astute handling as regards animal feed and farmland treatment.
