Eid Al-Adha Al-Mubarek celebrated nationwide with zeal

Eid Al-Adha Al-Mubarek was today celebrated nationwide with zeal.

Asmara, 26 October 2012 – Eid Al-Adha Al-Mubarek was today celebrated nationwide with zeal.

Tens of thousands of the faithful conducted prayer at Bahti-Meskerem Square. After elucidating the historical aspect of the religious event, Sheikh Ali Mohammed-Ali, representing the Eritrean Mufti, wished followers of the Islamic faith a Happy Eid and peace and prosperity to the Eritrean people as a whole.

Sheikh Ali further explained that such holidays are significant events during which members of the faithful should assume mutual support vis-à-vis the spirit of forgiveness, and called on them to extend help to orphans, the Disabled, the needy and families of fallen heroes. He also voiced deep appreciation for the active participation of nationals inside the country and abroad in the nation building process and safeguarding its sovereignty.
