Administrator calls on inhabitants of Central region to enhance popular initiative regarding environmental hygiene

The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, called on the inhabitants of the region to enhance popular initiative as regards environmental hygiene, the impact of which has become effective in doing away with communicable diseases.

Asmara, 30 October 2012 – The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, called on the inhabitants of the region to enhance popular initiative as regards environmental hygiene, the impact of which has become effective in doing away with communicable diseases. He made the call at a meeting in which 13 villages in the region were awarded for playing exemplary role in this regard.

Mr. Kahsai lauded the accomplishments registered to this end on the basis of popular awareness, and the significance of ensuring sustained environmental hygiene was stressed in the meeting vis-à-vis pervasive and proper use of latrine.

Reports indicate that the inhabitants of 33 villages in the Central region have already become full beneficiaries of latrine.
