Kimira village witnessing commendable plant production activities
The Southern Red Sea village of Kimira is reportedly witnessing commendable plant production activities. Assab, 2 November 2012 – The Southern Red Sea village of Kimira is reportedly witnessing commendable plant production activities.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Ali Mohammed Halo and Mr. Ahmed Mohammed explained that such new farming practice was introduced in the semi-arid area following the implementation of community sensitization program, and that crops are in good state. Such accomplishment has become a breakthrough in overcoming the long-established mentality that plant production is impossible in the area, they further elaborated.
The farmers said that the activities would continue on 190 hectares.
Kimira village is located 250 Km. north-west of the port city of Assab.
