The Association of Livestock Farmers in Segeneiti sub-zone indicated that it is exerting endeavors to boost milk production on the basis of better green feed supply.
Segeneiti, 3 November 2012 – The Association of Livestock Farmers in Segeneiti sub-zone indicated that it is exerting endeavors to boost milk production on the basis of better green feed supply.
The head of the Association, Mr. Hailemichael Andemariam, pointed out that it presently has 110 members who own a total of 400 cattle, and that they have cultivated green feed through irrigation system on land plots provided by the sub-zonal Administration.
Among the Association members, Mr. Hailu Berhane, Mr. Kiflemichael Tesfamichael and Mr. Negasi Tikue said that they are in a position to secure animal feed and attain higher milk production, besides the access they have to the animal feed processing and milk packaging plants in Dekemhare city. They further expressed satisfaction with working as an association.
Mr. Mesfin Kidane from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone called on pertinent bodies to enhance collaboration with the Association.
