Eritrean national cycling team won 4 gold medals

Eritrean national cycling team today, 7 November, won four gold medals at the African Cycling Championship that commenced today in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Asmara, 7 November 2012- Eritrean national cycling team today, 7 November, won four gold medals at the African Cycling Championship that commenced today in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

In the team competition that was held at 11 o’clock Local time, Eritrea was represented by Daniel Teklehaimanot, Natnael Berhane, Frekalsi Debesai and Jani Tewolde.

The Eritrean cyclists finished the 42.4 kilometers race in 51 minutes and 49 seconds flying 40 kilometers per hour.

In the team competition in which 16 countries are participating Tunisia national team stood second and Algeria third.

It is to be recalled that the Eritrean national team won 15 gold medals in a similar competition held in Ruanda in 2010 and in Eritrea in 2011.
