Inhabitants of Adi-Quala sub-zone express readiness to extend support to new elementary school in Biet-Gebriel

The inhabitants of Adi-Quala sub-zone voiced readiness to extend labor and financial support to the new Secondary School in Biet-Gebriel with a view to equipping it with potable water supply, computer training center and other facilities. Adi-Kuala, 7 November 2012 – The inhabitants of Adi-Quala sub-zone voiced readiness to extend labor and financial support to the new Secondary School in Biet-Gebriel with a view to equipping it with potable water supply, computer training center and other facilities.

Mr. Zemui Jena, Administrator of Biet-Gebriel Administrative area, stated that the availability of such facility attests to the government’s commitment to the development of remote areas, and explained that the inhabitants have already started donating for the school’s development.

Mr. Kaleab Tesfasilasie, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the Southern region, disclosed that the school can accommodate 3,000 students, and it comprises 24 class rooms, offices, library, laboratory and toilet. He further indicated that it is currently serving students from the Administrative areas of Biet-Gebriel, Mai-Alba, Ona-Gaebien and Adebraham.

The Administrator of the Southern region, Mr. Mustafa Nur-Hussein, said that the regional Administration would back up the public initiative. Meanwhile, the branch of the NUEYS in the region donated a number of reference books to the school.

The elders in the locality on their part said that they would strengthen their role in facilitating the initiative.

The school has presently registered 1,468 students, according to reports.
