Restructuring underway to improve the livelihood of custodian-cared war-disabled veterans in Barentu sub-zone

The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that it is taking on restructuring initiatives to improve the livelihood of war-disabled veterans under direct care of custodians in Barentu sub-zone. Barentu, 10 November 2012 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that it is taking on restructuring initiatives to improve the livelihood of war-disabled veterans under direct care of custodians in Barentu sub-zone. It made the statement at a meeting conducted in Barentu town.

Pointing out that the Ministry has been exerting endeavors to lay the groundwork on which war-disabled veterans could improve their production capacity, Mr. Eyob Kidane, head of the branch office, explained that the current venture is focused on ensuring equitable opportunities among beneficiaries.

Ms. Hana Osman, head of the Ministry’s branch in Barentu sub-zone, disclosed that war-disabled veterans in the locality are regularly obtaining free health service, wheelchairs, artificial limbs, and other supplies.

The participants of the meeting put forth views on a number of issues.
