Kerkebet, 13 November 2012 – The Education Ministry’s branch in Anseba region organized training course for teachers engaged in mother tongue education of Bidawyet language in Kerkebet sub-zone with a view to enhancing educational impact in the locality.
Mr. Feki Mohammed Dawod, resource person from the Department of Bidawyet Curriculum Development explained that the training’s emphasis was on the application of the language’s script in light of the teaching process.
Ms. Abrehet Gebre, head of adult education in the region, called on the trainees to play due role in raising parental awareness on educational values. Among the trainees, Ismael Ahmed and Jaefer Hamd Idris voiced satisfaction with the training offered.
Mr. Humed Ela Ali, Administrator of Kerkebet sub-zone, indicated that community sensitization activities are being undertaken in this regard, in addition to the endeavors being made to promote community-based style of living, which has become a marked factor for increasing trend of child participation in education.
