Apiculture farmers in Kakibda area, Debarwa sub-zone, indicated that they are in a position to obtain impressive harvest in line with the impressive blooms witnessed in the enclosure in the area. Debarwa, 15 November 2012 – Apiculture farmers in Kakibda area, Debarwa sub-zone, indicated that they are in a position to obtain impressive harvest in line with the impressive blooms witnessed in the enclosure in the area.

Accordingly, they are selling honey in the markets in Debarwa and Mendefera at reasonable price.

“The harvest was incredibly bountiful, and has thus encouraged us to place new beehives at the enclosures in Sheka-Wedi-Bisrat and Adi-Quala areas,” said Mr. Musie Embaye and Mr. Yosef Woldai, among the farmers. Moreover, the farmers disclosed that they collectively own 70 beehives, the number of which was 35 recently.

Among the buyers, Mr. Samson Gebretinsae and Ms. Rigbe Woldegebriel voiced satisfaction with the quality of the honey vis-à-vis its reasonable price.

Mr. Tsegai Tekeste, inhabitant of Kakibda village, stated on his part that enrichment of underground water due to the big dam within the locality has made the area conducive for apicultural farming.
