Ministry organizes training course for medical personnel in Southern region

The Ministry of Health organized a training course as regards prevention of communicable diseases for medical personnel in the Southern region. The training which comprised theoretical and practical aspects also dealt with the necessary precaution measurements to this end, besides the ways and means of reinforcing the impact of VCTs. Mendefera, 17 November 2012 – The Ministry of Health organized a training course as regards prevention of communicable diseases for medical personnel in the Southern region. The training which comprised theoretical and practical aspects also dealt with the necessary precaution measurements to this end, besides the ways and means of reinforcing the impact of VCTs.

Mr. Asefaw Negasi from the Ministry’s branch in the Southern region pointed out that the training was conducted with a view to promoting behavioral change pertaining to HIV/AIDS.

Ms. Nigisti Tesfamichael, one of the resource persons, indicated that popular awareness is a vital prerequisite regarding prevention of communicable diseases vis-à-vis an atmosphere of free consultation between patients and medical professionals.

Mr. Abraham Yemane, head of the Ministry’s branch in the region, explained that instances of communicable diseases have shown a decreasing trend in line with growing public awareness.

The beneficiaries of the training said that it is crucial in their career, and voiced readiness to step up efforts for the realization of the cherished goal.
