Inhabitants from different administrative areas in Haikota sub-zone and members of Eritrean Defense Forces from the area conducted popular campaign aimed at developing the agricultural activities being conducted beneath Fesco Dam. From members of EDF Tekleab Asmelash and Hamid Idris indicated that they are diligently working alongside the inhabitants to see the project reach the desired goal and that with their participation they found spiritual satisfaction.
From the inhabitants, Mr. Faid Hajaj and Mr. Osman Ismail on their part expressed that the inhabitants and members of RDF are working together to develop work spirit and to ensure food security and that the work they accomplished has brought them spiritual satisfaction.
Ms. Abet Yasin, inhabitant of Fesco, noted that women are working with dedication for the success of national development programs and that the evidence is the achievements registered on the ground.
Mr. Hailezgi Habte, manager of Fesco Agriculture, indicated that through popular participation of the inhabitants and members of EDF 80 hectares of land have been cultivated and are in good condition. He also said that preparation is being finalized to cultivate 300 hectares of land with vegetables and fruits and called for the sustainable participation of the inhabitants of Tesenei and Haikota.
