Fishei-Mirara area inhabitants call for enhancement of research venture regarding management of the Green Belt
The inhabitants of Fishei-Mirara Administrative area, Ginda sub-zone, called on pertinent bodies to enhance integrated research venture as regards management of the National Park within the Green Belt in the Northern Red Sea region. They made the call at a meeting in which the Administrators of Northern Red Sea and Anseba regions were present. Ginda, 19 November 2012 – The inhabitants of Fishei-Mirara Administrative area, Ginda sub-zone, called on pertinent bodies to enhance integrated research venture as regards management of the National Park within the Green Belt in the Northern Red Sea region. They made the call at a meeting in which the Administrators of Northern Red Sea and Anseba regions were present.
The inhabitants lauded the national strategy of boosting agricultural production on the basis of promoting soil and water conservation, and said that they would enhance participation in endeavors to preserve the National Park.
The Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsigereda Woldegiorgis, commended the initiative the inhabitants took, and stated that both regions would work in synergy regarding implementation of land proclamations.
Likewise, the Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Giorgis Girmai, underlined the need to foster collaboration between government bodies and the inhabitants of both regions as regards realization of the cherished goal.
Among the participants of the meeting, Mr. Mohammed Idris Nor, Mr. Ibrahim Hibties and Ms. Tekh’a Hagos voiced readiness to extend a helping hand in the implementation of proclamations pertaining to the management of the park.
The participants of the meeting also elected a committee comprising members from both regions, which would follow up administrative issues of the park and farmland use.
