Assab: Students and teachers call for integration of extra-curricular activities

Students and teachers in the port city of Assab called on school administrations and pertinent bodies to assume integration of extra-curricular activities for better outcome. Assab, 21 November 2012 – Students and teachers in the port city of Assab called on school administrations and pertinent bodies to assume integration of extra-curricular activities for better outcome.

Mr. Tesfamihret Andebirhan, Director of Hamd Idris Awate Secondary School in Assab, indicated that extra-curricular activities conducted at the school have a remarkable impact as regards student awareness on various important issues, and that they should be carried out in a manner that does not create interference in academic tasks.

Among the students, Saron Solomon and Ali Saleh Ali equally expressed conviction that such school activities are crucial pertaining to the popularization of the necessary life directives and raising juvenile awareness on several issues. They further called on the pertinent bodies to work hard for the integration of the pursuits.

Mr. Abdalla Mohammed, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region, said that it is working for the coordination of school-targeting activities by the NUEYS, the NUEW, the Police Force branch, the Ministry of Health and the Sports Commission.
