The Ministry of Agriculture called on Dairy Farmers Associations nationwide to enhance endeavors with a view to meeting milk demand in their respective regions.

Asmara, 22 November 2012 – The Ministry of Agriculture called on Dairy Farmers Associations nationwide to enhance endeavors with a view to meeting milk demand in their respective regions.

Mr. Kahsai Negash, head of dairy development in the Ministry, lauded the production capacity the Association in the Southern region has attained, and further called on dairy farmers to consult experts as regards livestock housing and installation of the necessary apparatus. Moreover, he advised them to include 85% green component in feed and practice diligence in follow-up of livestock diseases.

Mr. Kahsai further pointed out that the Ministry has ensured ample supply of select alfalfa seed alongside its readiness to provide the necessary vaccination service to this end, and called on customers to consume inspected milk onl
