The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, and the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsigereda Woldegiorgis, made a joint work visit in Nacfa and Mahmime sub-zones and inspected the ongoing development activities.
Massawa, 24 November 2012 – The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, and the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsigereda Woldegiorgis, made a joint work visit in Nacfa and Mahmime sub-zones and inspected the ongoing development activities.
In the trip that was conducted from 15 to 20 November, the two officials made a tour in Rora-Bagla, Endlal, Agrae, Mahmime and Mel’it areas, during which they assessed the impact of popular soil and water conservation undertakings in the localities, and held a tête-à-tête discussion with community representatives. They further expressed appreciation for the inhabitants’ endeavors in this regard, and voiced the readiness of the Agriculture Ministry and the regional Administration to collaborate with them.
The inhabitants of the sub-zones on their part lauded the accomplishments the government is registering as regards rural development vis-à-vis popular participation.
Moreover, both officials called on the inhabitants of Agra’e village to enhance participation in endeavors to cultivate 33 hectares-wide fallow land in Mel’it area.
