The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare indicated that it has extended support to orphans and needy students in Anseba, as well as Gash-Barka regions. Accordingly, a total of 60 families that have taken responsibility of guardianship for 203 orphans in Anseba region have been rehabilitated in livestock at an expenditure of 1.2 million Nakfa, while 105 needy students in Gash-Barka have mutually become beneficiaries of 11,550 Nakfa. Asmara, 24 November 2012 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare indicated that it has extended support to orphans and needy students in Anseba, as well as Gash-Barka regions. Accordingly, a total of 60 families that have taken responsibility of guardianship for 203 orphans in Anseba region have been rehabilitated in livestock at an expenditure of 1.2 million Nakfa, while 105 needy students in Gash-Barka have mutually become beneficiaries of 11,550 Nakfa.
Meanwhile, reports indicated that 4 families of martyrs in Dige sub-zone, Gash-Barka region, have been rehabilitated in livestock worth 20,000 Nakfa.
Among the beneficiary parents, Mr. Mohammed Abdalla Ms. Amna Ibrahim, Mr. Hassen Kerar and Mr. Tahir Mohammed expressed appreciation for the government’s commitment towards promoting societal wellbeing, and said that they would work hard to improve their livelihood.
One of the beneficiary students, Dawood Abdu stated that the support is a remarkable motivational element in his academic pursuit.
