Harvest of martyrs’ families collects through popular campaign

Youth workers from Mendefera sub-zone and students from ‘Alnibras’ school, Tebedelia, Golij sub-zone, collected harvest of families of martyrs through popular campaign, reports indicate. Mendefera, 25 November 2012-  Youth workers from Mendefera sub-zone and students from ‘Alnibras’ school, Tebedelia, Golij sub-zone, collected harvest of families of martyrs through popular campaign, reports indicate.

The participants explained that such popular participation is hallmark of the Eritrean culture that is being transferred to posterity and that they would reinforce participation in such a noble cause.

Youths Gebreyesus Alemayo, Yordanos Tsegai and Habtemichael Andebrhan, from Adi Bari indicating that they got spiritual satisfaction for participation in the popular campaign said that assisting families of martyrs and the needy is not some thing that should be left to the Government and expressed resolve to strengthen participation to the level of their capacity.

From beneficiaries Mr. Hadgu Ngru and Ms. Shewit Abeledish on their part commended the noble initiative of the youths and that thanks to the assistance they are receiving from the Government and people they are leading stable life.

Like wise, the students from ‘Alnibras, indicated that the popular campaign to assist families of martyrs was initiated from 2005 and that was aimed at contributing their level capacity.

Youths Ismail Ibrahim and Mokonnen Gebremeskel, from ‘Alnibras’ school, noted that assisting families of martyrs is part of strngthening martyrs’ trust and that they would work hard for its sustainability.

Mr. Abdalla Yosuf, chairperson of martyrs’ families in Teberdelia, said that the association that was established in 2005 is currently cultivating 32 hectares of land and that they have been able  to collect bumper harvest.
