Anseba region: ENWVA extends more than 3 million Nakfa in support of 160 members

The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) branch in Anseba region indicated that it has extended material and financial support to 160 members within the last quarter of the current year. The support worth more than 3 million Nakfa comprises 30 water pumps and 1.6 cash intended for purchase of livestock.

Keren, 29 November 2012 – The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) branch in Anseba region indicated that it has extended material and financial support to 160 members within the last quarter of the current year. The support worth more than 3 million Nakfa comprises 30 water pumps and 1.6 cash intended for purchase of livestock.

In meetings he conducted with Association members in various sub-zones of the region, Mr. Dawit Gebrekristos, head of the branch office, stated that the support was made with a view to ensuring sustainable improvement of livelihood among members, and called on pertinent bodies to enhance collaboration with them. Moreover, he said that Association members rehabilitated on the basis of small-scale businesses have witnessed improvement of livelihood, besides creating 200 job opportunities for themselves.

Furthermore, reports indicate that several ENWVA members in the region engaged in agriculture and merchandizing business have become beneficiaries of a loan up to 20,000 Nakfa.

Among the beneficiaries, Mr. Mohammed Idris, Mr. Hamd Mohammed Idris, Mr. Bahlibi Gide and Mr. Ramadan Seid voiced conviction that they are in a position to raise their income through engaging in various businesses.

The ENWVA branch in Anseb region has 1800 members, 300 of whom are females.
