Environmental protection at its best in Rora-Bagla: Report

Reports indicated that the inhabitants of Rora-Bagla village, Nacfa sub-zone, are demonstrating commendable input as regards environmental protection in line with their longstanding norm to this end.

Nacfa, 30 November 2012 – Reports indicated that the inhabitants of Rora-Bagla village, Nacfa sub-zone, are demonstrating commendable input as regards environmental protection in line with their longstanding norm to this end.

Mr. Adem Mohammed Musa, the Agriculture Ministry’s representative in the village, explained that there exist indigenous trees, the age of which extends up to 2 centuries. He further disclosed that a 1,500 hectare-wide wood enclosure has been established in the area, thus securing a habitat for diverse wild animals.

Moreover, Mr. Adem elucidated that the nearby nursery has been producing tree seedlings that best fit the area’s climate and soil makeup, and that they have been planted through popular undertaking. He also lauded the active role of the inhabitants in development activities, especially in safeguarding the vegetation in 2,000 hectares in the locality.
