The Ministry of Health indicated that it is registering visible accomplishment as regards promotion of health service standard in line with the putting in place of infrastructural facilities and commitment of health personnel. Massawa, 1 December 2012 – The Ministry of Health indicated that it is registering visible accomplishment as regards promotion of health service standard in line with the putting in place of infrastructural facilities and commitment of health personnel. It made the statement at a meeting in the port city of Massawa which was organized with a view to providing a forum for exchange of experience between the Ministry’s staff in Anseba and the Northern Red Sea region.
Mr. Tesfalem Misgina, coordinator of the meeting, explained that an exemplary accomplishment has been registered in Anseba region pertaining to mother and child care, malaria prevention and community-based environmental hygiene, while the Ministry’s branch in the Northern Red Sea region has reportedly acquired valuable experience regarding control of communicable diseases.
Dr. Birhana Haile, Director of family and community health in the Ministry, stated that the two regions have generally been witnessing improvement of health service quality from time to time, with a major accomplishment in mother and child care. She also voiced conviction that the meeting would serve as a springboard to better outcome.
Among the participants, Mr. Solomon Kelifa and Ms. Mitslal Tesfamariam said that the meeting was one that encourages spirit of synergism and quality-oriented service.
