Massawa, 10 December 2012 – The Health Ministry’s branch in the Northern Red Sea region organized training course for 20 staff members as regards VCT.
Ms. Nigisti Tesfamichael, Head of HIV/AIDS and STDs prevention, explained that the training which comprised theoretical and practical aspects was organized with a view to promoting outreach of VCTs in the region.
Among the beneficiaries of the training, Ibrahim Osman and Semira Ismail said that it is crucial in their career, and that they would work in collaboration with Area administrators, government bodies and religious leaders pertaining to community sensitization. The trainees also exchanged experience in the course of the training.
Dr. Yohanes Tekeste, head of the branch office, voiced conviction that the training would pave the groundwork for advancing VCT outreach in rural areas.
