The Administration of Sel’a sub-zone called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand in endeavors towards enhancing the impact of social service facilities through promoting community-based style of living.
Keren, 11 December 2012 – The Administration of Sel’a sub-zone called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand in endeavors towards enhancing the impact of social service facilities through promoting community-based style of living.
Mr. Wuela Mohammed-Ali, Administrator of the locality, explained that it has been exerting sustained endeavors to this end in collaboration with the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment, as well as the Anseba region’s infrastructure department. He further indicated that 150 families are due to settle as a community this month in an area where potable water supply and other facilities have been put in place.
Accordingly, there exist 2 Preschools, 7 Elementary schools and a Junior School in the sub-zone, and future undertaking of the local administration is expected to focus on reinforcement of health facilities. Moreover, there exist potable water supply facilities in Rikeb semi-urban center and the Administrative areas of Girgir-gersi, Bad, Dieba-sata and Tahira, while exploration activities have been conducted with a view to putting in place potable water supply facilities in Merbebayeb and Gedae Administrative areas.
The practice of plant production is on the rise in the locality, as the renovation of Keren-Sel’a road gets underway and construction of asphalt road from Kerkebet to the locality is continuing.
