The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Kerkebet sub-zone called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand towards wildlife conservation.

Kerkebet, 28 December 2012 – The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Kerkebet sub-zone called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand towards wildlife conservation.

Mr. Zenawi Ogba’ab, head of the branch office, explained that the plains in the locality are endowed with various resources that are vital for wildlife. Accordingly, the palm trees along Rivers Kerkebet, Himbol and Barka, which cross the area significantly, have become a habitat for various wild animals such as the antelope.

Moreover, Mr. Zenawi pointed out that herds of ostriches and other wild animals have well reproduced in the plains and mountainous areas of the surrounding, and called on the inhabitants to enhance participation in environmental care.
