The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region indicated that it has implemented various projects at an expenditure of 12 million Nakfa in 2012. Assab, 11 January 2013 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region indicated that it has implemented various projects at an expenditure of 12 million Nakfa in 2012. It made the statement at an assessment meeting during which it was stated that citizens displaced by volcanic eruption were rehabilitated in livestock and that a total of 3.5 million Nakfa was paid in benefit scheme to families of martyrs.
Accordingly, various victims of social ills have collectively become beneficiaries of 1.5 million Nakfa, while educational materials were extended to a number of needy students. The branch office has also been stepping up efforts to nurture the desired behavioral change among street children. Moreover, financial support extended by nationals residing abroad to families of fallen heroes was paid individually.
Mr. Mohammed Jabir, head of the branch office, explained that its future undertakings would focus on the enhancement of worker-employer relations and ensuring favorable environment for industry, besides carrying out research targeting orphans and children of martyrs.
