Eritrean Merhawi Kudus stood 5th in the third tournament of Tropicale Amissa Bongo – Tour de Gabon 2013 which involved 110 Km. Moreover, members of the Eritrean national team, Tesfom Ogbamariam and Meron Amanuel, ranked 9th and 17th respectively, while Natnael Berhane took the 18th rank representing EUROPECAR club.

Asmara, 17 January 2013 – Eritrean Merhawi Kudus stood 5th in the third tournament of Tropicale Amissa Bongo – Tour de Gabon 2013 which involved 110 Km. Moreover, members of the Eritrean national team, Tesfom Ogbamariam and Meron Amanuel, ranked 9th and 17th respectively, while Natnael Berhane took the 18th rank representing EUROPECAR club.

Belgian Gért Dockx stood first in the tournament succeeded by Algerian Abdelbaset Hannachi and Belgian Gaetan Bille. Besides, Moroccan Haddi Soufiane ranked 4th.

Meanwhile, Merhawi Kudus seized the record that was held by Moroccan Abdelathi Saeduni in today’s fourth tournament that involved 109 Km. and an uphill competition. Meron Amanuel took hold of the 5th rank, as Tesfai Abraha stood 10th followed by Merhawi Kudus and Tesfom Ogbamariam. Furthermore, Mekseb Debesai ranked 14th and Meron Teshome stood 59th, according to reports.

Eritreas Jani Tewolde and Meron Rusom, representing their South African club MTN-QUEBEKA, ranked 8th and 62nd, in addition to Natnael Berhane made it to hold the 28th rank representing EUROPECAR, reports added.
Reports indicated that Eritrean cyclists are expected to demonstrate higher performance in the 5th uphill tournament of the tour.
